Why dental implants?

A missing tooth affects more than your smile. It can make chewing harder, let nearby teeth shift, and over time the jawbone in that spot can shrink. A dental implant replaces the root as well as the tooth, giving you a strong, stable result that you care for like your natural teeth.

Implant options we offer

  • Single-tooth implant: replaces one missing tooth without filing down the teeth beside it.
  • Implant-supported bridge: replaces several teeth in a row using implants as anchors. Fixed bridges →
  • All-on-4® / teeth in a day: a fixed full arch of teeth on four implants, often with temporary teeth the same day. All-on-4 dental implants →
  • Snap-on implant dentures: a denture that clicks securely onto implants, so it stays put when you eat and talk. Dentures →

Planned in 3D with our CBCT scanner

Every implant case starts with a 3D CBCT scan taken in our office. It shows your bone height, width and nearby nerves and sinuses, so your implant position is planned precisely before treatment, with no trip to an outside imaging center.

What to expect, step by step

  1. Consultation: Dr. A.J. Khan examines your mouth, takes a 3D CBCT scan and explains your options and costs in writing.
  2. Preparation (if needed): extractions or bone grafting to build a solid foundation.
  3. Implant placement: done comfortably in our office, with nitrous oxide, oral or IV sedation available.
  4. Healing: the implant bonds with your jawbone over the following months.
  5. Your new tooth or teeth: we attach your custom crown, bridge or full-arch teeth.

Is an implant right for you?

Implants may be a good fit if you’re missing one or more teeth, have a tooth that can’t be saved, or are tired of loose dentures. Healthy gums and enough bone help, and if bone is thin, grafting or All-on-4 may still make implants possible. We’ll tell you honestly what will work for you.

Dental implant FAQ

How much do dental implants cost?

Cost depends on how many teeth you’re replacing, whether you need extractions or bone grafting, and the type of crown, bridge or denture. We give you a personalized written estimate after your consultation. We accept all PPO plans and offer financing through Sunbit, Proceed, CareCredit, Alphaeon and others.

Does getting a dental implant hurt?

Implants are placed with anesthesia, so most patients feel pressure rather than pain. Nitrous oxide, oral and IV sedation are available if you’re anxious. Some soreness for a few days afterward is normal.

How long do dental implants last?

With good brushing, flossing and regular checkups, implants are designed to be a long-term solution. The crown on top may eventually need replacing from normal wear.

What if I don’t have enough bone?

Many patients can still get implants. Bone grafting can rebuild the area, and All-on-4 is designed to use the strongest parts of the jaw. We’ll evaluate your bone with a 3D CBCT scan at your consultation.

Implants vs. dentures: what’s the difference?

Regular dentures rest on your gums and can slip. Implants are anchored in the jaw, either as fixed teeth or as snap-on dentures that click securely in place.

Do you place implants in your office?

Yes. Implant placement and restoration happen in our Sanger office, so you won’t need to drive between offices for each step.

Do you see implant patients from Denton and Valley View?

Yes. We welcome patients from Denton, Valley View, Krum, Pilot Point, Aubrey, Lake Kiowa, Gainesville and throughout Denton County.
